But, I don't understand why you think you are "better" than the people that CHOOSE to go to Mesaba or Pinnacle. That you are soooo great and smart for instructing and built a couple hundred hours....because you are now at a FANTASTIC paying job....wow....maybe $5-10 more.
Shows how much you really know how much more we make at ExpressJet. So far this year, I have pulled in about $14,000 on first year pay and have flown just under 300 hours, this year, in just 6 months. So tell me again how only flying 50 hours a month and on pace for $28,000 for my first is not that much better? Once I get on 2nd-year pay I'll be on pace for $36,000-$40,000 a year, all while flying 50 seats around.
For the record I don't see the guys at Mesaba as a low regional. They were the pinnacle (no pun intended

) of the regionals at the time and got insanely screwed by NWA's bankrupcy. Despite lower pay than we have at ExpressJet they have excellent work rules there. I don't know what kool-aid you've been drinking, but Pinnacle's work rules aren't really anything to write home about.

Also, people that choose airlines to upgrade faster, are now building PIC time. How your SIC time sits well for YOUR future.
Don't bash Pinnacle and Mesaba and people's choices without thinking of what people are going to say back to you and YOUR choices.
Now this is where it shows your lack of understanding and immaturity. You don't go to just any regional to build time for the next level. Ask any pilot from Skywest, Republic, Eagle, Horizon, ExpressJet, and even Mesaba (there are others as well). People that chose to go to a crappy regional, just to build time, will feel the pain when the industry goes into a downturn and they get stuck there. Looks like all those guys that went to Mesa just to build time must be really regretting that decision now. Also, none of my friends that went to any of the other regionals have upgraded or are even close to that now. Not really sure what kool-aid that you are drinking but NO-ONE has 1.5 year upgrades right now.
As for making choices, don't bash those of us that didn't take the easy plunge and go with a bottom feeder, because doing so just helps drag down this industry further. Of course you won't understand, so I'm not even sure while I'm trying to help you out here.
