The longer we wait for a "quick deal," the more I am convinced: RG, HT, and the rest of FltOps leadership don't *REALLY* view the trip coverage / AA / 23M7 stuff as the true reason for us falling short of operational reliability goals.

If they did, we'd already be talking about (or voting on) a deal in order to get it fixed before risking summer meltdowns. But we're not, and it sounds like there will be no quick deal.

Instead, FltOps has already taken action (albeit too late) to fix the problem in a way that they think will work: Turning hiring up to 11 UFN.

Blaming the pilot group is just a convenient narrative to throw dust in everyone's eyes, distract from a failure to plan ahead, and sow seeds of distrust and angst toward the pilot group during Section 6 negotiations.
