Perhaps the company's openness to an early deal is an attempt to sneak a subpar agreement under the wire by pretending they need a deal to save the summer. IMHO, the summer collapse is already baked in.
I agree with this and a change in attitude probably happened when the network pull down for fuel cost and availability was circulated amongst the brass.
