As someone who leans ALPA in this whole process, doesn’t repealing the gustin amendment move the goal posts a bit? We couldn’t seem to organize a card drive to get 50% +1 to force a vote so instead we are looking for something less than a majority of eligible voters to get a future merger to pass.
I’m all for this merger process but also interested in what’s fair and equitable to the whole pilot group.
I’d figure there’s 1/4 of the pilot group that doesn’t care who represents us. Is that their problem? I guess it makes it so. Or is the argument that these people should be informed and involved and must vote one way or the other?
I’m very undecided. But I’ll be voting not to repeal the Gustin amendment or the 25 year moratorium. IMO, if we’re going to change unions it needs to pass big or we need to move on.
