there’s too much gray area imo to litigate whether more Robles or GU trusteeship was worse.
i am just talking about January to the present. Since that time RJ did exactly what he was elected to do. The alternative would have been JR, Jay, J Allen, and the GU mafia. RJ is absolutely better. There is no way we would have even gotten PBS done if the old regime were still in power. Never forget the mantra of the old IBT regime is that they are COWARDS. They are terrified of making a deal because they are thin-skinned, hyper sensitive, ego maniacs that would rather do nothing than agree to a deal.
had the Unity team won we would have rolled into JCBA without a bridge/contract, and gotten destroyed at SLI and then JR, Jay and GU would have used their only playbill and screamed that the arbitrator was in management payroll/corrupt and that is why we all lost a decade in a relative seniority to SY pilots.
That is the only game the IBT knows because they are all cowards and too afraid to make a deal. They’d rather just blame others, tell us that the mediators are corrupt, the NMB is corrupt, management is bribing ppl, etc.
I think if RJ gets anything done it will be better than whatever the old regime could have done. It takes real cajones and leaderships to make a decision when all the options suck.
Cmon, yeah cut your nose off to spite your face. There is no way Robles was worse than the trusteeship. Just think of it from a contract perspective…90% of the sections we TA’d were under the previous Eboard. GU and his guys TA’d one or two (that were mostly done when they arrived) and RJ didn’t TA any. Given that math we probably would have been done with this in 2013 if the trusteeship hadn’t happened. Hate Robles if you want to, I don’t think he was perfect either but you have to admit what was done to this pilot group by the IBT probably should be looked at by the DOL for racketeering and fraud and RJ was part of that.
I get you think of RJs cajones a lot but this bridge isn’t an accomplishment it’s assuredly not what he was elected to do since the merger wasn’t in anyone’s mind at the time…he failed upward into the president position because the alternative was unthinkable and then succeeded in accepting something that’s subpar to what we were offered 2 years ago(mark my words). As far as PBS goes, it’s done because he abandoned the Block award…the damage that will cause is yet to be known. But keep carrying that torch!
