can you name 1 time since 9/11 a major airline pilot group (2000+ pilots) has been released to strike? Rebublic was allowed to spend 7 years past the amendable date because a mediator would not release them. The reason I was told was “they were too far apart”, which is the EXACT reason a strike should be allowed to happen.
I highly doubt any pilot group gets released with the current interpretations of the RLA, but especially under this administration.
We are only constrained by the RLA because we decided that we are.
If the current generations of airline pilots existed when the industry was in its infancy, there never would have been unions.
