Reiterated and repeated for emphasis. Do not come to UPS right now. "Sweating the assets" is in full effect. When you "sweat" a trucking fleet, trucks break down. When you "sweat" an airline, airplanes crash and kill people. UPS does not care. Definitely no contract within the next 12 months, and the quality of the contract will make boomers happy and likely no one else. The current company and union are for boomers, by boomers. Don't expect any QOL improvements for those under the age of 55 until every last boomer has departed property and the leadership. Also of note is the high number of new hires that are over the age of 50 and many who are expats with a non-US frame of reference. Big Brown Atlanta is be strategic about not only how they underman the airline, but who they underman it with, specifically: older pilots who will never max out pay and will likely not complain about it.
