When Express Jet became the highest paid regional pilots in the industry, did that out price them of a contract with Continental?

Its a shame that ithe regional market just doesn't support top dollar wages. While the union did a credible thing getting the highest pay rates ever for regional pilots, it may have "bit the hand that feeds them."
