To be clear, FlyBe is NOT hiring XJT pilots. Flybe is experiencing a declining fleet situation as they transition from the 145 to the Q's and larger EMB airframes.
As a result of this, they STILL need to staff what 145's are still there. They have gone through various crew leasing/contract agencies to fill the short term demand they are having on the 145. The first I saw on the job was through PARC Aviation a few months ago saying they needed EMB145 CA's and FO's for a short term contract in the UK. Of course, they preferred EU/JAA license holders but stated they would accept FAA tickets as well.
Now, as that relates to XJT. ANOTHER contract agency (not PARC) has contacted XJT to see if any of our pilots would be interested in the flying, needing the stated 40 pilots. We, the ordinary line pilots, are still pretty much in the dark as to the EXACT details of the contract. It vaguely mentioned something about "accommodations", "rostering", etc. But like I said, we STILL don't have ALL the details involved in the contract. A big one being the compensation offered, as well as the penalty if the contract is broken early by the pilot. Another big thing is how they are going to handle the JAA validations, or the temporary validations, right to work/abode. etc.

Who knows, maybe they will. But if they DID, you would probably be required to go through their own selection process, as well as do a JAA conversion for those not already holding an unrestricted JAA certificate. Yep, you can do a short course if you have certain criteria met. But it's still a bit of a PITA process.
Again, to be clear, NO XJT pilots are getting hired at FlyBe at this time, nor for this short term contract. The pilots that are going to be going will be employed by the contract agency and then leased to FlyBe.
