My question to all of you is this; Who really gets screwed if a pilot takes up a slot at Mesa for whatever reason, with the intent of leaving to SKW (or one of the other "good regionals") when they call with a class date?

JO and the rest of Mesa management? Somewhat, they lose the cost of ground training for a period of time and they lose time recruiting another pilot. Sadly, pilots are becoming easier to find in the current state of our industry.

I think the real loser is the pilot that would have taken the Mesa slot if the potential SKW guy or gal had not blocked them from doing so. This pilot could have begun his or her flying career a few months earlier and started the seniority clock just a little sooner.

Sometimes when pilots think that they are getting even with "the Man", what they are doing most is screwing a fellow pilot.
