BTW On the fake training letter I was scheduled for a 1 Jan 2009 class. I went to activities and looked at scheduled ITU and they currently have me down for a Sep 2008 class. I forgot that was in vips.
The first excess bid this year had everyone fooled until the second one came out. We are likely getting fooled now too.
I suspect this one will have many fake parts about it. No way 800 training events are going to happen. If they can pick and choose which airplanes or seat positions to train for they will. Elimination of passover and over 60 SOs making 124/hr will be the priority. Training purple nuggets to move to MEM (many commute) to do the same job will pay off quickly at 85/hr. An old guy will only make about 7-10/hr more than a junior widebody CA.
I have a hunch that this is preparation for the 777 bid too. The company hates it when newhires roll into widebodies or SOs camp out for years and struggle with FO upgrade because no one wants to be junior in a base. Nevermind that the company causes this problem with the optimizer and pairing construction.
So the answer is to downgrade some internationally seasoned MD11 CAs and FOs. Guys and gals that would have normally passed on the 777. Then come out with the 777 bid and watch everyone hungry for their old pay rates go for it.
Or so my theory goes....
