A couple of my observations: an airplane is an airplane, period. They all have throttles, a yoke, windows, you get the idea. The jet is more just pushing buttons, while the EMB is more stick and rudder. The jet you spend hours up at 35,000 ft looking at sky, while the EMB you spend shorter times at 4,000ft over the bay between Crescent City and Arcata and watch for whales. And after spending a year dealing with thunderstorms in the midwest, delays in Chicago, security lines at major airports, time zone changes, etc, I wonder why everyone thinks the CRJ is so much cooler than the EMB. If it paid the same as larger equipment, I would spend the rest of my career enjoying the California valley and coastline, and overnighting in Santa Barbara and Monterey.
Perfectly said, I couldn’t agree more.
I love not having to go though security (unless you’re in LAX, SFO, GEG or commuting).
