You are only versatile if you have something else to fall back on. Most who get into this industry put all there eggs in one basket, so to speak. They live, eat, and breathe flying aircraft and have no training or experience in anything else.
I couldn't agree with you more and it is a sad fact of life that some people do just that. SkyHigh just likes to argue that you can't make any money in aviation and it's a pointless endeavor for anyone to undertake...but he doesn't spell out what he considers in the aviation industry and what he doesn't. All he does is tell everyone how stupid it is to fly for a living. I don't consider flying as my only option in life and if unable, would move on to something else in what I would consider the aviation industry.
