Well, there's the problem! They were talking about mainline employees and jobs. Delta always only talks about their employees. Anything to do with DCI etc, always comes out of the respective HQs.

That's always the problem when you are a subcontractor and don't own your own flying. Not trying to be ugly, but all DL cares about is their bottom line and if they will roll over their own employees to achieve the goal, what chance to subcontractors have?
