Nice thought but no. Flowthrough is over, the arbitrator has ruled that the Eagle captains that have AA numbers will flow up but AA furloughs no longer have flow back protection at Eagle. APA walked away from negotiations for a flowthrough renewal a few months ago and I for one am glad they did.
The likely reason for the return of airplanes is the fact that Eagle is about to undergo a very vast fleet realignment. We have pretty good displacement and furlough language in place and AMR knows that this realignment is going to be pricey. Having those extra 10 ERJs on property at a company where the vast majority of pilots are qualified if not current in the ERJ will help offset those costs significantly...and it makes the angry and vocal minority at Eagle happy.
