An excellent post and a wonderful story. It helps me reading that given the turbulent times that we as pilots are facing these days. I too have come on to the scene to late to remember the glory days of being an airline pilot, but I do consider myself "Old School" and try to make the best of the situation that we are in. It is a great job to have and I feel lucky to be where I am every time I feel the thump of the gear going up.
