GE Energy Efficient light bulbs

A 60W equivalent light bulb only burns 13W and a 40W equivalent light bulb only burns 10W. That’s a 75%-80% reduction in energy. You can get a 6 pack at Wal-Mart for around $10-$13 and they have a 5 year warranty. They take a few second to heat up and produce their max lighting but what’s a second or two when it can save you hundreds to thousands of dollars?

So, since most of the energy we use in our household revolves around light bulbs you can see why we had such a huge drop in our electric bills.

Also, when you leave a room.........turn the lights off. Check out the MythBusters episode on the wattage difference between leaving a light on seeing that you plan on returning to the room in the next 5 minutes as compared to turning the light off and then turning it back on when you return. It’s truly eye opening because they proved that the energy BEP is less than a second.
