To play Devil Advocate, while you are arguing about taking each other's flying, I wonder what would be said if the mainline pilots were successful in recapturing all 50+ seat jet flying and scoping all the regionals back to TPs?
With that said, I really don't expect that to occur. The 50-76 seat horse left the barn a long time ago. Ultimately the decision who gets what flying comes from Mahogany Row, and the regional pilot has very little say in it, other than to refuse to fly for very low wages.
When you see me on here arguing about flying, do me a favor and point it out.
In my opinion it was a very poor managerial decision to have 8 different contracts knowing you didnt want them all in the long run, neither one of the companies is going down without a litigation fight (except xjt). But airlines are not known for managerial savvy.
