Talked to an Eclipse guy last week about his airplane...Sounds like the avionics aren't as ******* hot as people think. Most of the FMS functions are placarded inoperative (especially on the autoflight panel) and on this particular airplane they're going to yard most of the FMS stuff out and replace it with Garmin navigation systems, defeating the point.
Cessna built a better airplane...at least as far as magic is concerned.
Recently there has been a bunch of TV here in FL about Day Jet and I have seen several on ramps and they all have had Garmin hand held GPS mounted on the glaresheild. and looking close at them the overall construction is not the same quality as the aircraft it is competing with.
