You need to really sit there are read the financial information of both companies. Read all of the documents etc to come away with an informed decision. Fact is that if you can look past the end of your nose. Anyone on the bottom of this list is going to have better career advancement in the next 10 years plus than they would have had with out it. This is not to say that a few of us may loose a current seat, or two, but it is the long term that you need to look at. Take the SLI and where you may sit on it. Fact is that there will be a lot more growth with them, than with out them.
On the hiring front. We are still looking to do this. Crew planning says no, but the other peeps "in the know," are still saying yes.
I think that a lot will change in the next six months, but the fact is that we at DAL are still showing net growth. Not just of airframes but on block hrs. Now with a joint company, you will see DAL take real advantage of the NRT and AMS flying. Domestic has been rung out, there is not much left to gain in the market. International is where it is at, and not just O and D from the USA.
Take a deep breath and ask yourself; Do you really thinking that voting No will change a darn thing? I will bet my house on the fact that we will not get anything better in terms of a PWA down the road if we vote this thing down.
Like him or hate him, Lee and the MEC really do know what is going on. There are benefits of a good working relationship with management. Not all of it has to be hate.
