Just a quick dumb question from a regional pilot. My fish bowl is pretty cloudy with how our managment is working us over.
Perhaps that is the case. I don't think so, because I really don't think it would take that much to change. A little leadership at the top - someone who understands how to motivate people could be enough to get everyone pulling on the same end of the rope. It could be as simple as proper motivation instead of the "beatings will continue until morale improves" philosophy of Glenn-2-n's. I've seen it before with other companies that were brought back from certain doom by competent management.
At United we have a great route structure, good equipment, good hubs, and some really great folks. I really think all we are missing is some good leadership. That could change with one new guy doing a little housecleaning.
P.S. It's not a dumb question at all. We will all see how this turns out - fasten seat belt sign is clearly "on".
