The voluntary furloughees are recalled based on their own senority dates (with bypass rights), but only when United decides to recall. The voluntary furloughees get furlough pay. The pilots that take a voluntary leave of abscence have a firm return date, even if United is not recalling. They do not get furlough pay. They both keep United pass travel priveleges, but not offline.

Might not be a bad deal if you wanted to go to law school or finish up your twenty on active duty for retirement.
