The PAX B744 base still exists in YVR because the aircraft still operates 888/889. The B777 base exists on paper in YVR but not in operation yet as the aircraft has not taken over 888/889. October is the transition date. The B744F base in YVR is only for more senior freighter guys and is very small. You would have to bid into it after being in the company for a few years.

As for the A340 DEFO positions in YVR, they hired very few "lucky" people into that position and I have heard there will be no more. The same goes for the YYZ B777 base.

Right now everything is up in the air as the company is evaluating its current situation. But I would plan on a USAB if you were hired as a DEFO.
