I thought Frontier was smarter than this...

To serve this these 5 round trips a day, Frontier is using 2 A-319 aircraft that will go
SFO-LAX-SFO-LAX-SFO-LAX etc...

That is a terrible idea. I have worked at SFO before and that place gets severe fog, cutting the arrivals down from 60 to 30 per hour. Because 28L and 28R are so close together (Centerlines 750ft, so 550ft between runways), simultaneous approaches cannot be made in fog. Even with the advent of these new simultaneous offset instrument approaches, the ceiling must be below 2100ft for simultaneous approaches to happen.
Translation: On a foggy day, Frontier will be hit extremely hard on these SFO-LAX flights.

If a flight is delayed an hour in the morning from LAX-SFO, and then heads back to LAX (an hour late), and then heads back to SFO, it is now almost 2 hours late. ALL DAY LONG...
