If the average transcon fare was $2000, instead of closer to $200, the nickels and dimes wouldn't have ever shown their ugly heads.
On a side note I hear US Airways is charging $2 for a can of Coke. I really don't object to the principle of paying for a Coke, but $2 is about a buck and a half too much. And it ought to be comped with a $5 mini.
