It helped during the interview that I had sorted the belt when I was also flight instructing. Still, it made no difference to get the call for the interview. The flying is the most important part.
If you do take the job throwing boxes, make sure that you leave on good terms. If not you will never get a flying job at the company. They check a "would you hire this person again" box when you leave. Make sure they say yes for you.
I threw boxes AFTER I had the hours! It GUARANTEED I got the call! And I don't plan on leaving for about 11-12 more years!
