i didn't read that they were going to deduct anything from your pay. As per my memory, it simply said that United was going to charge the company for unused Dead Heads. There's a problem in the logic though, if we were to Limo to an assignment and not tell the company, sure, they'll get an 80 dollar charge because we didn't use the positive space deadhead. But, as you stated, if the flight is full on the way home, you're hanging out in chicago for the night. What's that mean? You're not positive space, you have no ticket, you bought no seat, and, as the memo stated, United was upset because revenue passengers could have used the seats as opposed to you, which in a "non-rev" situation (that our deadheads are) you wouldn't be bumping ANYONE!

It's the same situation if you list a friend with a buddy pass on united, if they don't show up, united doesnt care, and won't charge you a segment surcharge for it. They didn't fly, revenue got on, who cares. Same for management. I'd just tell you to take the Memo, and insert it into RZ where the sun don't shine.
