The problem with your statement is that it lacks any real truth or understanding of how corporations actually function. We used to have a "profit sharing" plan at purple, but it was manipulated so badly that it never really gave you anything for your efforts. And we kept waiting for the benevolent leadership to give us our due. It never came. Don't get me wrong, we still made a good living for the most part. But it wasn't really based on how much revenue you produce or on the company's profitability. And just how do you calculate the revenue generated for a Capt that shoots 2 approaches to m/a's, holds for another 30 minutes, then shoots one last approach on min fuel so he can get an MD11 full of freight into NRT?(aside from being crazy)
It's a great concept, it just doesn't work. I would dare say that if it did, Unions wouldn't have a place in our profession..

Do you know of any good sources to research how an airline corporation (any airline) operates and how a union (any union) operates?
