Cathay's career website says minimum of 1000tt to apply as DESO. What is reality these days? What is competitive? What (if anything) can a career changer that barely has their minimums do to earn an interview?

If you speak to the ladies in HKG, they'll tell you 3000TT and 1000 Turbine are the mins for DESO.
In the past they've had 737 Captains from Europe go for SO slots as well as the infamous case of an EK Captain who joined CX as an SO.
