Your photo needs to show up for CASS. If you're an on-line employee, you can use another method of verification, but, since Hawaiian doesn't have any on-line affiliates' (like Hawaiian Express or something), you'll need to use CASS.

CASS is for flightdeck access only. It has ZERO to do with access to the cabin (unfortunately, there is confusion on this issue with both gate agents . . . and pilots). Think about it like a security issue: how much security do passengers go through to sit in the cabin - the same amount as a cabin jumpseater. They don't go through CASS, and you don't have to either (the PIC must verify and approve you, of course). To sit in the flightdeck, your ID must be verified by a known method (CASS or on-line access). Having your passport won't make a difference if there's no CASS photo.

The system goes down sometimes - it could be your airline, the airline you're trying to jumpseat on, or the AIRInc. server - or just one of those random 'computer' issues.
