USA3000 I got a private's and am going to enroll in an aviation program in college. UND to me from the hours of research I did is the best out of those three. The facilities are amazing over there, the costs aren't that bad at all, and UND has relationships with several airlines and companies in the aviation business which is an added plus. I was accepted there but in the end I just didn't want to spend the next four years in the harsh and dull landscape of North Dakota far from home so I opted for Central Washington U east of Seattle. Take the advice of people like Bose and many others on this forum with a grain of salt, but don't let it discourage you. It's a wise choice to get a backup of course but you can minor in something else, if you're willing to work your tail off double major, and if you decide majoring in aviation isn't working out minor in it and major in something else or fly on the side. There are places out there that will rip you off and give you false promises, I'd stay away from those academies that promise they'll take you from zero time to an airline job within a few years, don't throw your money down the drain. Learn everything you can, read all the info packets, do searches online, speak with people in the program and who have graduated from the program before you make your choice. I feel that after the people I've talked to in my program and several pilots who I've spoken with that enrolled in these college programs, many feel it is a great opportunity, but just be careful. You meet many others who share the same love as you, internship opportunities, networking opportunities, the list goes on. And if you don't like it after your first few months, no one is holding a gun to your head. Once you've made your choice use your freshman year to explore all your options it's college it's the next four years of your life find something that makes you happy and stick with it.
