Sorry - coming from the military side I expect that if you are wearing a uniform then it would be pretty straight forward when you should and should not wear your hat.

I don't really think that there is a problem. I wouldn't expect a McDonald's worker to wear his or her McDonald's hat/visor thing and name tag into Wal-Mart if they stop there on his or her way home from work. I don't think that airline pilots should be any different.

I know it is 100% different in the military, but this isn't the military.

I'm not trying to start a pi$$ing contest, just pointing out the irony that it seems to be okay to make fun of the TSA, but not okay to make fun of ourselves as airline pilots.
