Your friend is correct. The official number is 24 for the rest of the year. Four classes of six starting on Oct. 2. There are just a couple waiting for class right now but not enough to fill the 24 spots so interviews will continue (only the 10/02/08 class has been assigned so far). Also, VA usually gives around three weeks notice for class.
Growth is projected for 2009 so there will be more classes to come.
