United Facing $544 Million Loss on Fuel Hedges
United Airlines warned investors Wednesday that the carrier will post a loss for the third quarter due to falling oil prices. In a regulatory filing, United said it may lose $544 million on fuel hedges this quarter, including $72 million in actual losses and another $472 million in as-yet unrealized hedging losses.
