Let me get this straight....

1. America West cash & credit is used to rescue USAirways from the garbage heap. USAirways had less than 10 days cash remaining, no assets, toxic workforce, nobody willing to lend it a dime.

2. USAirways pilots rescued from working at Home Depot by America West infusion of cash & credit.

3. The USAirways and America West MEC's ALPA MEC's agreed to binding arbitration to settle seniority and integration issues.

4. Arbitration award comes out....East is ****ed! Again...these guys were 10 days away from the unemployment line.

5. East breaks away using higher numbers of pilots to scrap their union & replace it with a "crony" union representing only the east pilots.

6. East pilots upset that West pilots won't join the "scab" union. Threaten lawsuits, cry, whine, moan....everything except provide actual "representation".

Summary....

a. The East Coast pilots reneged on their pledge to binding arbitration. This goes directly to honor and integrity. It is sad to say that as a group and individually, they have none.

b. Due to the rancor of the East coast pilots, scab union breakaway, etc., the company is teetering on the edge of bankruptcy again. Financial analysts give LCC very little chance of survival.

c. East Coast pilots are still working under what is arguably the worst contract of any major carrier. Because of the seniority issue, they cannot even begin to negotiate a new contract. They are playing directly into managements hands and don't have a clue how to dig out.

d. The new "union" has absolutely no benefits, protections, etc. Just a bunch of clueless old East Coast dudes playing big dog, while no other legitimate union (ALPA, SWAPA, APA, NPA, etc.) will even return their phone calls. Both West and East pilots are left completely unprotected!

Basically....the East Pilots reneged on the deal of binding arbitration. They lack honor and integrity and cannot be trusted in any fashion.

When the company ultimately goes belly up, they will find when they apply at other ALPA & legitimate union carriers that they "aren't welcome".

Hey...you West Coast guys! Do what is right, because it is right! Stand tall knowing that you have integrity and have not sold out your soul and your profession.

East Coast guys....hang your heads in shame. Enjoy working at Wal Mart!
