Never heard of Basair.com and know nothing about California.

First I would choose a part141 flight school attached to a university. Major in something other than "Aviation Management". Aviation law, Avaition tech. Anything but just Manegement. An Avaition Manegement degree is worthless general studies with an aviation twist. Why major in something else? A good paying job for when you get furloughed or do not want to do this anymore. And yes, you WILL get furloughed.

Second I would get my CFII MEI. It is also good work for when you get furloughed and a good clean way to build time.

As far as what school, in state would be cheaper. Look at what each school has and will give you when you are done. Jet time, Jet sim time, Type rating, CFI, CFII, stuff like that. AOPA would have alot of info on that stuff and coujld help you make the decision.

Good luck!!!
