I think you'll also find that the RFDS require a minimum of 3 IR renewals aswell. A CASA IR is valid for 1 year before you have to take a renewal flight.

The RFDS is a bit of an old boys network, I'd be stunned if I ever heard a non-Australian accent flying for them.
