I'm headed to some simulator training in Dallas in early November and will have the opportunity to take my APT Checkride in the Sim. I was wondering if anyone has done the written at one of the two Dallas locations that can provide any insight.

Can the average pilot walk in there without studying and pass the test after staring at questions for ten hours or do I need to really study the Gleim for the next month (Which I was planning on doing any way).

Are there any other similar testing locations in the area that are less expensive?
