Trying to reach an ANG unit recruiter without success...help?
Hey guys, I am trying to contact the recruiter at a particular guard unit via the advised mediums but it isn't getting me anywhere. I don't want to blow up the recruiters voice-mail and email box, but at the same time, I don't want to sit around twiddling my thumbs waiting for a return call/email.
In the past 2-3 weeks, I have made a couple of calls and have only ever been greeted by the recruiters voicemail box. I left a polite and courteous message explaining who I am and reason for calling, how I can be reached, etc. After no reply, I followed up a few days later with an equally appropriate email requesting info and an opportunity to speak with said recruiter.
I sent the email a week ago, and still no reply. I called/emailed using information posted by this unit on baseops.net for people in my specific case (non-prior service). What I am wondering is, if, say the unit no longer wants to consider JSUPT candidates, is it normal or customary for recruiters to not return any messages, if even only to say, 'thanks but no thanks.'? I can't imagine this being the case.
I want to keep persuing this unit, but I don't want to come off as a pest either. I do have a personal contact in this unit who is a pilot, but we are little more than acquaintances, and so I don't want to make it his issue to find out what this means, if anything. For all I know, there could quite possibly be a perfectly good explanation.
Since you guys have been there, done that...any ideas on how to proceed without being a bug in their bum? (Also, I'm purposely not identifying the unit or recruiter publicly here just in case anyone from that unit reads these boards)
Thanks!
