whoa, lets be careful...

i think what rick is saying is that as long as the student is rated in that plane, you can teach instruments.

however, my question is...if that student has a private-multi only and the CFI is instrument only... can the instructor help that person give the complete instruction towards the student's instrument rating?

the reason why i ask this is because (without a PTS in front of me) wouldn't an instrument rating on a multi certificate require a single engine approach? if so, then wouldn't the instructor now be teaching multi engine procedures as well?
