the reason why i ask this is because (without a PTS in front of me) wouldn't an instrument rating on a multi certificate require a single engine approach? if so, then wouldn't the instructor now be teaching multi engine procedures as well?
A non-MEI who is a CFII can give instrument instruction in multi-engine aircraft if the instructor and the student are both rated in the category and class of the aircraft they are flying.
