That internship metro position should belong to a "qualified" furloughes who "deserve" it. But then again, in a free market, you take what you can get. Those who can't will complain and whine about it. I don't think my thinking has anything to do with the aviation industry going down the drain. Heck if it did I would have a lot of leverage power. Think of how much money I can get get if i can bring the industry down to its knee with my thinking. "United Airline, you will give me some free tickets or else I will think negative about your company and you will suffer". But seriously, who are you to tell me I don't deserve an aviation job. You sir don't deserve any flying job either. You are too quick to make a judgment on someone based on a few posts you read on in this forums. You shouldn't be a allowed in the cockpit either with that kind of attitude. I can imagine you shutting down the wrong engine in an airplane just because you're too "quick" to make a decision without looking at the whole picture.
I have never done any type of internship much less pay for any training beyond getting my basic ratings. I was a paid employee of Merlin Airways... I made more as an SIC than your PIC's make. I used to think like you and I am certain you will also change your way of thinking... the change will come with experience and time. My attitude is such that you are a professional pilot... you should be paid as such... you should be treated with more respect than a 7-eleven employee. My attitude is that the people and freight we fly deserve and expect an experienced professional pilot.
I can understand and relate to the fact that you chose not to instruct.... and I will not "slam" you for that because neither did I. But before you starting popping off about my experience and history maybe you should find out what my background is... I try to make myself available as a resource as I am sure the 50+ who have PM'ed me about flying in the caribbean can attest... but I find it disheartening that the new guys in aviation think that it is ok and just to pay for training.
Rant over...
