Just for the sake of discussion, what if someone got a type rating 10 years ago, say in a 737, but never flew the airplane. I would think that person would need to go through a full-up training class prior to flying. Or would he/she just need a "refresher" course?
I will look up the actually numbers when I have some more time, but after 35 calender months you pretty much have to go through a full type-rating again.
This is an FAA thing, not the way a training manual has been written.
