So to answer your question, YES every airline that I can think of only pays their crew when the door shuts till the door opens for the most part. Some may have a little difference in criteria but it all works out about the same. Good question though. Pass on the word when you can.
I think what CAPIP was addressing that Commutair guys don't get paid for a 1-2hr taxi and only get paid the t/o to ldg duration. I highly doubt this is the case at Commutair.
