In spite of your hesitation on a quickie course, I'd still look to AllATP's. They know how to get you through. If you need more time, you'll just have to pay for it. Maybe it would be smart to get steam gage current in an old ground trainer and then in a cheaper 172 before you try to master the ATP quickie course.
