I think you missed some of the thread. The applicable FAR was sited both here and on rp.org and the question about the written was cleared up. As it is, who ever wrote that about the "gap" was completely wrong. Dojetdriver was well within the regs getting his ATP with a 9 year expired written at another carrier.
