Default Pilot Age 60 Legislation

Subject: Update On Pilot Age 60 Legislation

Yesterday, the Senate Appropriations Committee approved its version of
the annual spending bill for the Department of Transportation. The
Committee included language in the bill that would increase the mandatory
retirement age for commercial pilots from age 60 to 65. The provision
was included with very little public discussion and no debate. This
legislation still needs to be passed by the full Senate. That is not
expected to occur until later in the fall, possibly after the elections in
November. Also, there is no similar provision in the House version of
the funding bill, so if this language survives the full Senate it will
still need to be reconciled with the House version later in the year
before it can become law. Opponents to changes in the mandatory
retirement change are sure to engage in a vigorous effort to defeat the Senate
provision.

Hey guys an gals, if your against this provision it's time to start enlisting everyone you can find to fight it. If you sit on your ass and do nothing, it could be law by Christmas.
