UPS and DHL do not even have a contract about this "future package deal" that everyone cant stop talking about. It is all just press releases at this point. Speculation at best.
Well it seems that Fedex is going after most of DHL's big customers in North America. I am just wondering where is the out cry from ALPA over this one?
At the hearings UPS said that they are not using the partnership with DHL to eliminate them. Wallace, said the UPS card promoting UPS over DHL was not endorsed by UPS and they wouldnt do something like that. One element of this deal that is an antitrust concern is that UPS would eliminate DHL from the marketplace. DHL testified that this deal would allow them to better compete. FedEx on the otherhand is agressively competing but not negotiating a partnership with DHL. Thats the difference.
