It matters because we are in contract negotiations, why can't y'all see that? When UPS/FedEx get raises, I say that's great, it helps the profession. Hey, if they're making ten times that, by god, go and demand ten times SWA compensation. If they get it, I say that's great. I would think that everyone else would want us to get the best wage possible, it would bolster their own cases in their own negotiations. Hey, that's just me thinking out loud, though. The short-sighted passenger pilot would want us to fail and take concessions - that would put our already low costs significantly below everyone elses. Ask yourself if that would be good for the professsion.
