I would think that everyone else would want us to get the best wage possible, it would bolster their own cases in their own negotiations. Hey, that's just me thinking out loud, though. The short-sighted passenger pilot would want us to fail and take concessions - that would put our already low costs significantly below everyone elses. Ask yourself if that would be good for the professsion.
FedEx and UPS have been in the same boat for a long time too, I haven't had raise in 7.5 years (contractually). I know at FedEx it's been 2.5 years since our contract expired. Get all you can and work as little as you have too. From my buddies at SWA you guys seem to work a lot of exrta. For me it's all about the quality of life not the hourly rate. Not sure why fellow pilots seem to want SWA to trip and fall. I think SWA is great and so do 99.9% of your fellow pilot around the world.
Get your guys to stop flying extra for a month and you'll get any deal you want. Same here but it's hard to get guys to step up and only do 100% of their job (we are our own worst enemy) IMHO
